LILAC (Low Impact Living Affordable Community) is an award-winning cohousing community in Leeds, structured around mutual home ownership, shared facilities, ecological building, and democratic resident control. The 20-home development is built using ModCell straw-bale panels, making it one of the UK's most environmentally ambitious housing projects. Residents share a common house, gardens, car club, and meals, while the mutual home ownership model ensures permanent affordability.
