Big Issue Group is a social enterprise that helps homeless and marginalised people earn a living through selling The Big Issue magazine and through its investment arm which backs social businesses. Founded in 1991 in response to the growing number of rough sleepers on London's streets, the Big Issue has since expanded to become a multi-faceted organisation tackling poverty through enterprise, investment, and campaigning. Over 100,000 vendors have earned more than £150 million selling the magazine since launch. The Group operates as a charitable co-operative governed by its trustees and stakeholders.
