About
Bay Energy is a community energy co-operative in Cumbria that develops and operates renewable energy projects including solar farms and wind turbines, with profits reinvested in energy efficiency projects for fuel-poor households. The co-op has installed over 2 MW of community-owned solar across school roofs, community centres, and brownfield sites in the Barrow and Furness area. Its fuel poverty programme has helped hundreds of local households reduce energy bills through insulation, advice, and emergency fuel vouchers.
Mission
To tackle fuel poverty and climate change in Cumbria by generating community-owned renewable energy, keeping the economic benefits of the energy transition in local hands.
